From the Author
While the book centers around a 5-minute home program that has been clinically shown to be 94% successful at decreasing pain in people who suffer from chronic plantar fasciitis, it actually provides the reader with far more information than that.
Additionally, plantar fasciitis sufferers will learn what the plantar fascia is, where it is, what the heck it does, how long plantar fasciitis typically lasts, risk factors for developing plantar fasciitis, and what can be done to prevent it from ever coming back again. Also included are the results of an exhaustive literature search I conducted on other commonly used medical treatments for plantar fasciitis- to find out just how effective they really are. Thus, readers will be left knowing once and for all just how effective alternative treatments such as night splints, orthotics, or stretching are according to the medical literature published from 1965 to the present day. In short, I've done all the research so you won't have to!
Written in a large font and non-medical language, my hope is that readers suffering from plantar fasciitis can put this concise book down in about 2-3 hours time and have all the knowledge and tools they need to eliminate this most painful foot condition.

Simple, fast, effective foot treatments
This pamphlet/workbook seemed a bit overpriced for such a small book, but it's worth every penny. The therapy described in the book is effective and easy to accomplish. I have some trouble with the stretches described first thing in the morning owing to general stiffness overall, but have discovered that I can use a proStretch device (also available at amazon.com with supersaver shipping) to accomplish the morning stretches. It almost seems unlikely that the exercises in this book can be so effective as they are. Yet only two weeks ago I was worried about how I would be able to manage this fall's teaching work up on my feet. Now, I don't have any significant plantars fasciitis pain at all. In addition to these really effective simple foot stretches, the book evaluates other therapies for treating PF by researching medical studies. The author concludes that additional helpful measures include calf stretching and some arch support in shoes (I chose Tuli diamondbacks - very effective and small, also with free supersaver shipping). If you are really suffering from PF, I think this is worth your time to try it.
Incredibly Helpful Book
I've been running for years and finally ended up with plantar fasciitis, quite common among runners. The thing about plantar fasciitis, is that it tends to hang around awhile- which is why I'm glad I found this book. In fact I now use the treatment described in the book after every run. While I have never written a review before, I was so impressed with this book that I wanted to share my experience.
Now it's not a terribly long book, but like a stick of dynamite, it really packs a punch. Why do I say that? Because the book is so darn comprehensive (the author obviously did his homework as he meticulously provides citations for all the info in the book). Here's a quick rundown of what I thought were its best points:
-the book is very thorough in explaining what the plantar fascia is, where it is, and what went wrong with it. Turns out its not an inflammation thing but an incomplete healing problem. A key point few understand, but you'll know after reading just a few pages.
-there's a TON of pictures (I suspect that's why the book is a tad on the expensive side- medical artists are expensive and books with many pictures usually cost more to print). I'm a visual learner and the pictures helped me a lot to understand the info, especially the anatomy stuff.
-there are no wasted explanations or filler- all the info is short, sweet, and to the point- and in non-medical language.
-the book is completely evidence-based. The 5-Minute solution is targeted to work especially for long-term sufferers and has been shown to have over a 90% success rate in controlled studies. Compare this to the "shot gun" approach that is usually prescribed and the kind of crap you usually find all over the net(try stretching or try ice or maybe try a shoe insert- something is bound to work). Obviously that approach never worked for me.
-great section on what you can do to prevent recurrences (an often neglected topic)
-there's also an entire section that goes through alternative treatments for plantar fasciitis that have been shown to work in controlled trials- just in case you're that 6% or so that don't get relief from the 5-minute solution.
All-in-all, its cheaper than a visit to the doctor and I highly recommend this book to get educated, get better, and learn now to stay that way!
Amazing Results, Blown Away!
I was skeptical but I would pay ANYTHING to be rid of may PF pain. I have suffered on and off for over a year. Taping, calf stretching, icing, etc, nothing seemed to work. This WORKED, and FAST! I can't believe it, I am absolutely blown away. Buy the book...it's the best $27 I have spent in a LONG LONG time. Very simple. Very effective, I would kiss this guy if I saw him....
